Keith H. Davey Military Scholarship

The Keith H. Davey Scholarship was established as a result of generous gifts from friends and admirers of Keith Davey, including the Missions to Military organization, to honor his memory and promote his vision for the discipleship of military personnel

This scholarship is open to active duty and veteran U.S. military personnel, their spouses and children who are pursuing a degree at VBTS. U.S. military and veteran is defined as those serving in or having served in the active or reserve Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, or National Guard.  This scholarship covers all tuition (up to three classes) for recipients for one semester of study and is open for re-application on a semester by semester basis. 

Selection Criteria - Applicants must:
  • Articulate their commitment to Jesus Christ
  • Satisfy all criteria for admission to the seminary
  • Provide evidence of an accredited undergraduate degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 for new, in-coming students
  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA at VBTS if a current student
  • MDiv and DMin applicants should articulate their intention to enter or continue in full-time ministry (pastoral, missionary, or chaplaincy) subsequent to graduation
  • Provide evidence of integrity, humility, and overall Christian character consistent with 1 Timothy 3
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Be an active duty or veteran member of the United States military or the spouse/child of the same (those with a bad conduct or dishonorable discharge are ineligible).  

In substantiation of the above criteria, students must submit a 500-word statement outlining:

  • Their commitment to Jesus Christ
  • The purpose of their pursuit of the intended degree
  • Their post-graduation plans for their intended degree
