The VBTS Pickering Library Memorial Book Fund was established in memory of Melody Anne Andrews who was called home to be with her Lord on January 13, 2024. Melody was a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a homeschooler, an avid quilter, and an U.S. Navy Ombudsman for two aircraft carriers for five years, but most of all, she was a follower of Jesus Christ and was passionate for teaching God’s Word to her children and grandchildren.
Among her many endeavors, during the mid-1980’s, she was also a key worker in the setting up of what would eventually become the Pickering Library. In light of her work in those early years and her desire to educate young people to devote their lives to serve Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, the Andrews family established this fund to aid in the acquisition of new, hard to find, and important theological books for the Pickering library at Virginia Beach Theological Seminary.
