Look at the VBTS tuition and fees
Members of churches, which belong to the GARBC are invited and encouraged to apply to Virginia Beach Theological Seminary. VBTS is pleased to offer a 10% tuition discount to GARBC church members.
The 39-credit Master of Biblical Studies can be completed remotely. The Doctor of Ministry program is for pastors who have already completed a Master of Divinity and consists of two one-week modules. All other degrees (Master of Divinity, Master of Theological Studies, and Master of Theology) have residency requirements with hybrid options.

VBTS Degrees
- Master of Biblical Studies - A 39 credit graduate degree designed for those plan to serve in support roles in churches and other ministries. It provides coursework in systematic theology, hermeneutics, counseling, and Biblical exposition. The degree can be completed entirely online in as little as 2 years. Students have the latitude to watch weekly class recordings in the evening or on weekends.
- Master of Divinity - The flagship (96-credit) degree for those seeking to enter the pastorate. Most coursework must be completed in residence but some classes may be completed online. Students gain exposure to Biblical Greek and Hebrew, expository preaching, and other coursework in exegesis and systematic theology.
- Master of Theological Studies - An intermediate (60-credit) degree, which gives the student the option of exploring one Biblical language. There is also the opportunity concentrate in Biblical counseling. Most coursework must be completed in residence but some classes may be completed online.
- Master of Theology - A postgraduate research degree, which prepares the student for further studies at the PhD. level.
- Doctor of Ministry - A professional degree for pastors, who seek to refine their pulpit ministries.
